Every council member represents every Richardson resident equally. Each Richardson resident can vote for candidates in all 7 places. For Places 1-4, the council member must live in their district. City council members serve 2-year terms, with elections held in odd-numbered years on the second Saturday in May. All seven places are elected at one time at-large. City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on 2nd and 4th Mondays in Council Chambers at City Hall.  Work Sessions are held every Monday at 5:30 p.m.
